Stripped to minimal percussion, ‘Badboys’ rallies against the view that gang culture equates recognition and success: “I wanted to play on the stereotypical outlook the subject matter suggests,” says Scrabull, “and highlight alternative paths in life. Seventy Entertainment: The Story So Far…

70LOGO_08_2

Seventy Entertainment Limited (SEL) is parent to a group of companies specialising in urban music and fashion. Based in Central London, it encompasses Seventy Recordings, Seventy Music Publishing, Seventy Management, Seventy Studios, Patchface Productions and Uber Urban.

John Turner, the founder and CEO has a unique combination of musical creativity and business acumen. He is a true lover of music, a gifted musician, producer, and over 15 years International commercial experience in Financial and is equally at home in the boardroom or the recording studio.

James Prince is the COO and heads up the Artist Management division.  Graduating in Business Management & Law from Stetson University, Florida, USA, he has gained valuable experience from travelling and living throughout the world and brings a lot of these musical and business experiences to the company.

SEL’s Executive Management and Board also boasts Peter Prince (Chairman) and Eric Nicoli (Non-Executive Director). Peter has held senior positions in various Private and Public companies both in Europe, Australasia and the USA, Peter brings a wealth of senior management experience and high profile connections to the company. Eric is an advisor to the board and management. From 1999 to 2007, he was Executive Chairman of EMI Group plc, the world’s largest music publisher and third largest record music company. He is enthusiastic in bringing his industry experience and passion for music to bear on the development of Seventy Entertainment.

SEL has had an incredible start to the year, landing a worldwide distribution deal with PIAS and signing via Seventy Recordings a slue of talented artists to their roster including Jamie Leo, Scrabull and Kosha. A number of artists have also been taken under Seventy Management’s wing. Their raison d’etre is that urban music; although one of the most established and biggest selling genres in the world; is still not invested/marketed sufficiently in the UK when it comes to home-grown acts. However urban music imported from the US is readily digested. SEL has stepped into this space to reverse this trend and galvanise the UK urban scene by signing gifted artists and producing great music. The Directors, staff and a rapidly growing fanbase believe that Seventy have started something which is truly unique to the UK music scene, a label where all genres and artists of an urban nature can converge, develop, record and release, without creative compromise or the masses of red tape and politics that is prevalent.
