Eric is an advisor to the board and management. From 1999 to 2007, he was Executive Chairman of EMI Group plc, the world’s largest music publisher and third largest record music company. He is enthusiastic in bringing his industry experience and passion for music to bear on the development of Seventy Entertainment.
SEL has had an incredible start to the year, landing a worldwide distribution deal with PIAS and signing via Seventy Recordings a slue of talented artists to their roster including Jamie Leo, Scrabull and Kosha. A number of artists have also been taken under Seventy Management’s wing. Their raison d’etre is that urban music; although one of the most established and biggest selling genres in the world; is still not invested/marketed sufficiently in the UK when it comes to home-grown acts. However urban music imported from the US is readily digested. SEL has stepped into this space to reverse this trend and galvanise the UK urban scene by signing gifted artists and producing great music. The Directors, staff and a rapidly growing fanbase believe that Seventy have started something which is truly unique to the UK music scene, a label where all genres and artists of an urban nature can converge, develop, record and release, without creative compromise or the masses of red tape and politics that is prevalent.
